Welcome, traveler! You have reached the home of [livejournal.com profile] randomslasher and [livejournal.com profile] thuri. Here you can find our co-written fics, which are as of now are in both the Scrubs fandom, primarily focusing on JD/Cox, and the Stargate SG-1 fandom, primarily focusing on Jack/Daniel.

That's right--this is a slash journal, which means lots of man/man love. If that's not your cup of tea, I'd suggest passing on through. If it is, sit and stay awhile!

Standard Blanket Disclaimer: Scrubs and Stargate all their characters are the sole property of someone else. We're just playing with them.

Title: The Witness
Author: [livejournal.com profile] thuri
Fandom: Rent
Pairings: Canon. Mark/Roger if you squint hard enough
Rating: R
Description: Mark's finished his film and finally found success. Now it's time to lay down his burden.
Author's Note: I was listening to Anthony Rapp's book in the car today, and had gotten to the part about Jonathan Larson's death, the night before their opening performance. Listening to him describe the aftermath, the performance for Jonathan's friends and family, and how--even though they were absolutely devastated by his loss--it seemed to be right, be time, to fit, I wondered what it might have been like if Mark had followed in his creator's footsteps in death, as well as his life. This is what came out, as is, when I sat down to write it. My fingers could barely keep up with the words.
Warnings: Character death.

Hey, guys! Remember when we said we'd link you to that really OOC, really sappy, ridiculously happy 'verse that Legalized was a part of? The 'verse I rambled about at length here?

We finally got our butts in gear and got it semi-organized at its journal. We're going to allow folk to friend it if they wish, on the condition they read the rules and precautions first.

So, without further ado...

Chapter 4 )

Hey all! [livejournal.com profile] randomslasher here.

For anyone who might've been curious about that last posting, it was more than just a random fic written in response to Thursday's wonderful news. It actually fits into an extensive universe--one which has over 80 pages written in it already, though it's hard to get a truly accurate count, as we wrote it everywhere and it's somewhat scattered.

We call it "Engagement Verse," and it is, essentially, a Muse Utopia: a world where we have given our characters happy lives without regard to plot or plausibility. We have a verse like this for nearly all of our recurrent characters; with the amount of angst fic we write, it's good to have an outlet where our boys can just be happy. Utterly, ridiculously, Hallmark Christmas Special happy.

So, what's my point telling you this? After a bit of a discussion--and after the reception "Legalized" received, in spite of the fact it was written via hurried, excited email exchanges while both [livejournal.com profile] thuri and I were at work--we've decided we're going to polish Engagement Verse up a little, and open its journal to the public.

Why would we do this? Well, we've been writing in so many fandoms lately it's been difficult to finish anything, and to be honest, we feel a little bad for our lack of productivity here at Randomweaver. But we also decided our primary reasons for keeping this verse locked up--ie, its deviation from canon both in plot and in characterization--weren't really all that valid. They were the same reasons we considered not posting Changeling, after all. And we're very, very glad we posted Changeling.

So, what's all this mean for you guys? Basically, in a couple days, we'll be posting a link to the journal where Engagement Verse is being written. We may unlock the entries as we clean them, or we may decide to let you guys just read the raw product; I don't know. What I do know is this: we make no apologies for this 'verse. It's sap, pure and simple. And any universe where Perry Cox goes down on one knee in the middle of a crowded restaurant is bound to be OOC.

But for those interested in reading some schmoop anyway...stay tuned. It will soon be available in all its cavity-causing abundance. :)

Cheers,

RS

But hey, it's our journal, right? ;)

Just wanted to let everyone know we updated [livejournal.com profile] ophidian_mists. Chapter three is up here.

We got bad about updating for awhile, so we're sort of doing some damage control on the interest front. Hope those of you who were reading it will bear with us and give us another chance! We'll do better, promise!

Cheers all!

So, in regards to this post, I have an announcement!

[livejournal.com profile] tangledetchings

Join away, and feel free to post!

and [livejournal.com profile] loveless101, since you provided the new community name, please give me a prompt--pairing, universe, idea, situation, etc--for the Scrubs related drabble of your choice!
randomweaving: (a light in dark places)
Okay, here's the thing.

There are 12 parts to Survivor.

They're written.

They lack only a final copy editing for typos and misspelled words to be posted.

And neither [livejournal.com profile] randomslasher nor I have the time just now.

So...anyone wanna beta some JD/Perry/Jordan fic for us? We don't need input on the story--it's finished, so we're not changing it now--but we'd love for someone to give it a once or twice over with the spelling, typo, grammar glasses.

We can't offer you much but the sneak peek at how the rest of the story turns out. And credit, of course. And possibly a drabble-to-ficlet piece of your choice.

Which, as long time readers of this journal know, is always a dangerous thing. We got lovely feedback on Changeling today, in which someone said they now wanted to go through a Change of their own. And we had to wonder...Are there others of you who feel the same?

Would you want to write about it? Would you want to write about your OTP's experience with the Change in another fandom?

Would you want a place to post it if you did?

And wait...what about all you people who loved Changeling for it's wildly AU nature? Do you have a place you could post your own AU or original fantasy work without worrying a little about how it'd be received? We knew Changeling was a huge risk for some people, because ew, wing!fic in Scrubs?

So...

We're thinking of making a new community! Cross-fandom, slash or het, original fic or fanfic, whatever. A place that's for all those wildly AU stories you don't have another where you're sure everyone will want to see them!

What do you think?

I feel it worthwhile to mention that our plagiarist has apologized to her fandom. I have not heard from her personally, but I can't exactly blame her for any reluctance to contact us directly. I rather hope she does, but even if she doesn't she's owned up and apologized, and seems genuinely remorseful.

I'm willing to forgive. I just hope it doesn't happen again.

The Apology

While I understand the right to freedom of speech, and cannot censor you, I would request that anyone replying to her on MY behalf (Randomslasher here) be civil. Yes, what she did was wrong, but she's owning up, and at this point that's the most she can do.
randomweaving: (a light in dark places)
Because...well...

Anyone think this reads just a little bit like Last Night I Didn't Sleep?

Wow. We're both shaking here, because...flattering you like our fic, but dude...claiming it's your own is not fucking cool, okay?

Anyone else want to check the other fics in that series, make sure they're not yours?
