Greetings all!

No new Scrubs stories just yet, sorry, though for the curious we have several in the works, and some are quite lengthy!

This post, however, deals with another pet project of ours--namely, an original fantasy yaoi story we've been working on since April. The story is called Ophidian Mists, and tells the tale of the cornsnake naga Thorne, who discovers a wounded soldier, Kaven, in the creek on his family's farm one fall. The book begins with their meeting, a chance encounter that would alter both their fates, and follows them through an adventure that includes romance, mystery, tragedy, betrayal, and new hope for their kingdom and their world.

Intrigued? Even just a little bit? Then wander on over to our journal for them, [livejournal.com profile] ophidian_mists, where you can find Part One of the prologue.

Thuri and I know it's not as easy to get into a story about characters you don't know, but we would be truly honored if you would be willing to give it a chance.

Thanks very much for your time!

Cheers,
RS

I'd be honestly surprised if she doesn't know about it, as [livejournal.com profile] randomslasher's done fanart for her characters before.

And aside from an unintended accident of vaguely similar coloring, Thorne and Kaven have nothing in common with Asp and Mercury.

Well, out of curiosity a while back I actually read up on her stuff-and it sounds/looks very similar. I don't know her or whats shes like, besides whats I've seen on SA-but I'd hate to see a dozen or so of her fangirls troll about screaming "Stolen!".

*shrugs* Let them. It's not. They're nagas, sure, but she certainly doesn't have the market cornered on that. One's a prince, okay, fine, common enough in fantasy. That's just about where the similarities end. Except the colors, but they're actually important to the story. Thorne's a common cornsnake naga. They're red. Kaven's a more rare breed--a lavender. They're purple. There's actual plot significance to both choices, but it would be a spoiler to say why, so I won't.

Incidentally, WE both like her work as well, and would not deliberately steal from it. So anyone who thinks we have hasn't looked into things far enough, because apart from some surface similarities, the stories and characters have nothing to do with one another.

KK, I just know her horde can get pretty...crazed-while she seems chill. I know you cats are cool, and anything you write is golden.

LoL I don't think she would care at all, and we've been in fandoms long enough we're used to wank. *shrugs* Hopefully it won't be an issue. But if it does, neither of us feel we've done anything to be guilty about.

So! Hopefully all will be well.
