A quick note and an apology to Changeling readers...

Dear Changeling readers,

After conferring with one another, thuri and I have decided the last few chapters of Changeling need too much work for us to keep up with our current posting schedule.

I know many of you were hesitant to start reading this because you were afraid it would be abandoned. Please don’t think that’s what’s happening here! It’s quite the opposite, in fact. We could post the entire thing now, and be done with it, but we’ve really come to love this world, and we do not want the end to be disappointing to those of you who’ve stuck with us for so long. We’re only pausing so we can work it up to the level we have come to expect of ourselves, and the level we feel you all deserve.

Right now, we’re only planning to delay posting chapter 21 until Sunday. If we can get caught up between now and then, we will resume our normal posting schedule. If not, we may move to once a week postings until we do catch up. We will do our very best to give you at least one chapter a week, but if we need to miss another we will let you know.

In lieu of Chapter 21, however, we will be posting one of our shorter fics at midnight as a peace offering. Hope you enjoy it!

Completely understandable. I'm horrid at waiting for WIPs, but Changeling is just so good that I would rather go for quality than quantity.

You girls do whatever you need to make all of your readers happy :D.

Whew! Thanks for saying so, it really means a lot. We were expecting to have things thrown at us, or possibly an angry mob with torches and pitchforks. ;)

Nah, not really, but it does mean a lot that you're willing to wait for us. Much appreciated! Look for "Last Night I Didn't Sleep" tonight at midnight for some awkward, first-time JD/Cox fun! ;)

This is horrendously selfish, but I am somewhat glad for this. Not only because it will make the story that much better, but also because my school schedule this Spring and the fact that I took two classes during the Winterim have left me horridly behind and I'm hoping to catch up this week-end.

I do not think anyone would worry about you two abandoning this story. You're both so dedicated to making sure it's top notch and even getting to us on a regular basis that any worries that a reader could have are assuaged by those two facts.

I'm glad to hear that! A lot of people started reading this on faith that we would finish it, and we really don't want people to think we won't. We just didn't realize how much some of these chapters needed to be revised, that's all.

Glad we're giving you a chance to get caught up! I doubt you're the only one who's fallen behind, so no worries about being selfish. :)

This actually works out for me, at least for tonight. I was just debating on whether I should sleep (which I really need) or wait for an update, but I guess you guys made that decision for me. Heh.

But anyways, it's always better to take a little extra time to make an update even better. This is probably even still the fastest updating fic I've ever read.

Thank you! And glad you liked the other. We've been doing a lot of writing (we actually finished Changeling about two months ago) so we hope that whenever circumstances force us to delay posting Changeling, we'll have something else to offer up instead.

To be honest, this does make me a little sad, but I also understand. This is a high-quality fic that you two have put a lot of work into, and the fact that you want to improve upon it even more is very commendable. Thank you for all your work!

I'll admit - I'm not one for lying, really - that I was very upset when I read this. Because I'm selfish. But then I thought about it and thought about how important it has to be to you guys that it's really good and such. And I'd rather wait for something good :]

BUT. If this is ever abandoned I will cry forever. And then find y'all and punch you :P Not really. I would never punch you guys. You're too awesome.

Never abandoned! I swear! We just...well, the ending really kind of picks up, and when we were writing we were excited so we rushed it, and now we have to go back in and fill it in--not to mention there are some things that just need to be altered, because right now they don't line up with what we decided to do with the sequel, so we've got to get THAT in order...

We will NEVER abandon this, trust me. The ONLY reason we delayed it at all was because it's so important to us that we would rather be late than post something that doesn't reflect the spirit of the story. I swear!

No need to cry! I promise!!
