I just loved the description of Jack's wings buzzing like that. It was just so cute and wonderful and I really liked it for some reason.

That part with the gryphon was so utterly cool...I can't think of anything to say about it, it was just that awesome.

I'd like to ditto potion_mistress's comment about the whole "Day Dee" thing. I did the exact same thing with that part. Heh.

Also, one typo that I caught:
"...the undisturbed patches them pulling back to study his own footprints..."
them->then
